This morning's X1-class solar flare hurled a bright CME toward Earth. NASA <https://www.spaceweather.com/images2024/23mar24/nasamodel_earth.gif> and NOAA models <https://www.swpc.noaa.gov/products/wsa-enlil-solar-wind-prediction> agree that the storm cloud should reach our planet by the early hours of March 25th. A direct hit could spark strong G3 <https://www.spaceweather.com/glossary/g3.jpg>-class geomagnetic storms with mid-latitude auroras in the USA and Europe.
